Deputy Mohamed Ahmed was released from the hospital by his doctors Saturday, and allowed to go home. He is still undergoing substantial medical treatment. Deputy Ahmed was shot in the face by a gang member in East Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Deputy Ahmed, his family, and all the members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department sincerely appreciate and thank the public for your heartfelt concerns for his recovery.
