Criminal Activity Highlights for the week of 01/03/11 to 01/09/11

1346 hrs

A witness observed a white male enter the rear of Eddie Rhodes Riverside Grill (78 Canal Street) and fill four five gallon buckets of ice from the businesses’ ice machine. The witness stated she had seen the same subject take ice on two prior occasions. She was able to get the vehicle tag number the subject left in.

1530 hrs

Subject(s) removed a purse that was hanging on the back of a chair at 4999 N.W. 36th Street (McDonalds). The purse contained a Brazilian Identification Card, four credit cards and a cell phone; the estimated loss is $553.00.

1127 hrs

Subject(s) entered a vehicle parked in the east side parking lot of 700 S. Royal Poinciana Boulevard (Space Coast Credit Union) by prying open the driver’s side door lock. Once inside subject(s) removed a wallet containing one credit card and a driver’s license valued at $55.00. The damaged to the door lock is estimated at $150.00.

1833 hrs

Subject(s) entered a vehicle parked at 5301 N.W. 36th Street by popping the driver’s side door lock. Once inside subject(s) removed a shopping bag containing miscellaneous clothing and credit cards from inside a wallet which was in a purse located in the trunk of the vehicle. The estimated loss is $335.00.

1750 hrs

Subject(s) popped the driver’s side door lock of a vehicle parked at 3974 S. River Drive (Embassy Suites) to gain entry. Once inside subject(s) removed three cameras, three passports, jewelry, an MP3 player and $650.00. The estimated loss is $5,364.00; the damage to the door is estimated at $250.00.

2241 hrs

Subject(s) removed lawn furniture from a front yard in the 200 block of Duval Street. The furniture taken was two couches and two love seats, estimated value of $1,500.00.

1057 hrs

A guest checked out of the Embassy Suites (3974 S. River Drive) and returned approximately one hour later when he realized he had left his wallet in the checked out room. The hotel security person checked the room and the wallet was not located. The estimated loss is $50.00.

2001 hrs

Officers responded to an alarm coming from a rear window at a residence in the 1000 block of Ibis Avenue. Upon arrival the officers notice a window open in the southwest corner of the residence. The awning appeared to be pried up, and the screen was bent and pushed inward. The homeowners arrived on the scene and verified that nothing was removed from the residence, and that the window was closed with the screen in place when they left the residence early in the afternoon. A MSPD detective arrived and processed the scene.

2235 hrs

Subject(s) entered a residence in the 900 block of Oriole Avenue by prying open a window in the master bedroom with a crowbar left at the scene. Once inside subject(s) ransacked the bedroom and removed three cameras, three camera lenses and a laptop computer. The estimated value of items removed is $3,900.00.

1108 hrs

A vehicle was stolen from in front of a residence in the 300 block of Navarre Drive. MDPD located the vehicle in poor condition (the steering column damaged) and the following missing; the engine, transmission, interior dashboard seat. The vehicle was towed by Downtown Towing. The estimated loss is $5,000.00.
