Attempted Armed Robbery at Central National Bank – 2219 W Willow in Enid

At 5:52 pm, January 10, 2011, Enid Police Department Officer’s responded to a Panic Alarm at the Central National Bank, 2219 W. Willow in Enid. While enroute, the Enid/Garfield County 911 center received a call from a bank employee indicated that an armed man had attempted to enter the Central National Bank with a gun drawn and was confronted by an armed security guard inside. The suspect fled the bank and departed on a bicycle traveling eastbound on Willow Road.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6 foot tall, medium build, wearing a white mask and glasses, blue jacket, and wearing grey pants. The suspect was believed to be carrying a handgun.

A search for the suspect was conducted and at the time of this release it is still ongoing. This is a joint investigation with the Enid Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigations. The suspect is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
