Hit and Run to Pedestrian

Medford Lakes – The Medford Lakes Police Department is investigating a hit and run pedestrian accident which occurred at approximately 12:30 AM on January 1, 2010 on McKendimen Road.

A 25 year old Medford Lakes female resident was walking home on McKendimen Road when she was struck by a vehicle. Her name is not being released because of investigative reasons. The vehicle, possibly a dark blue, 2000-2006 Nissan Altima, struck her from behind. She was knocked to the ground and sustained minor injuries to her left hip and elbow. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid or check her status.

The incident was reported by Marlton Virtua Hospital emergency room personnel at approximately 1:30 AM when the victim drove herself to the hospital for medical attention. She was released from the hospital a short time later.

Police returned to the area of McKendimen Road described by the victim and found a passenger side-view, dark blue mirror lying in the snow. The mirror was identified as matching a Nissan Altima.

Anyone with information regarding the incident can contact the Medford Lakes Police Department at 609-654-2156 or 609-267-8300.
