Criminal Activity Highlights for the week of 12/27/10 to 01/02/11

2225 hrs

Subject(s) smashed the passenger side window of a vehicle parked in the 1200 block of Raven Avenue and removed a purse containing an ID badge, driver’s license, key chain and a wallet; value $235.00.

1745 hrs

Subject(s) made entry into a vehicle parked at 3501 N.W. 42nd Avenue (La Quinta Inn) by punching in the driver’s side door lock and removed a watch, two handbags and miscellaneous clothing; value $6,050.00.

2121 hrs

A resident in the 300 block of Deleon Drive was robbed at gun point as he was about to enter his residence. A black male ran up to him with a hand gun and demanded the victim empty his pockets and hand over his money. He handed over the money along with a jacket he was wearing, a black tie and a grocery bag filled with produce. The subject then ran to an awaiting vehicle parked in the roadway. As the subject was running he dropped the jacket and the grocery bag. A neighbor heard the commotion, looked out her window and observed a white Toyota sedan with a beige top drive northbound on Deleon Drive. The area was checked with negative results. A BOLO for the subject and vehicle was broadcast over the Miami-Dade Doral frequency; loss $2,000.00.

Subject(s) entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Raven Avenue and removed a GPS from the glove compartment, a drill from the rear of the vehicle and several dollars in change from the console; value $500.00.
*Note: A resident in the same block found the center console opened in her vehicle which was also unlocked, but nothing was taken.*

1838 hrs

Subject(s) entered an unlocked vehicle in the 1000 block of Redbird Avenue and attempted to pry open the locked glove compartment; the lock was damaged but no entry was made into the glove box; damage $50.00.

0556 hrs

Subject(s) removed a 2005 Dodge van parked in a driveway in the 900 block of Dove Avenue. The victim left the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside. Items inside the vehicle were various bags of cat food, six credit cards and a driver’s license; total value $5,607.00.

1045 hrs

Subject(s) entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 800 block of Heron Avenue and removed a GPS and prescription glasses; value $230.00.

1200 hrs

Subject(s) removed a set of luggage from an open and unlocked vehicle parked at 5125 N.W. 36th Street (Holiday Inn Express). The luggage contained a breathing mask, miscellaneous medication, clothing, camera, a bag containing personal items and $200.00; value $2,804.00.
