Thieves Target Vehicles- Arrests Made

The City of Grosse Pointe Woods along with the City of Grosse Pointe Shores has experienced attempted vehicle thefts and stolen property from vehicles over the last two days. Grosse Pointe Shores Police have made arrests of two separate theft rings working in the area over the last two evenings. It is believed that the attempted vehicle thefts and stolen property are all tied to these arrested individuals. The focus of these thefts from vehicles has been the GPS/Radio units and miscellaneous electronic equipment. Several GPS/Radio units and iPods’ have been recovered as a result of these arrests and are currently being held by the City of Grosse Pointe Shores Public Safety Department. If you have been a victim of these recent thefts please call the City of Grosse Pointe Shores Department of Public Safety at (313.881-5500) if you believe your property may have been recovered.

The Public Safety Department is requesting residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
