25 Year-Old Jacob Butler of Cottonwood arrested in connection to Brandi's Kitchen burglary
Cottonwood, Ariz, December 22, 2010— Late Monday evening on December 20th, patrol officers and detectives from the Cottonwood Police Department arrested 25 year old, Jacob Butler of Cottonwood for the burglary of Brandi’s Kitchen, which occurred in August of 2010.
On August 4, 2010, Brandi’s Kitchen was burglarized which resulted in a loss of approximately $7,600. Video surveillance footage was available and released to the public. During the course of the investigation, several witnesses provided information identifying Butler as the suspect. Detectives also received additional leads from other law enforcement agencies tying Butler to the crime.
A search warrant was authorized for Butler’s residence located in the 1200 block of E. Gila Street, for items related to the crime. Officers spotted Butler late yesterday afternoon at about 6:30PM driving a vehicle towards a local pharmacy where he was stopped for several traffic violations. Upon contact, Butler appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance and a separate DUI investigation began. He was subsequently taken into custody and arrested. A short time later, the search warrant was executed upon his residence which yielded several items including those believed to be used in the initial burglary including tools and clothing. Additionally, drugs and related paraphernalia were also found as well. Butler was charged with several felony crimes including, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Burglary, Trafficking in Stolen Property, Felony Theft, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Aggravated DUI.
He was booked and held on a $30,000 bond at the Yavapai County Detention Center. The Cottonwood Police Department wishes to thank the many citizens who assisted in bringing this case to a close.
