CAL EMA AND NATIONAL GUARD NOTIFIED LOS ANGELES COUNTY OPERATIONAL AREA ABOUT EXTENDED HOURS FOR EXISTING WINTER SHELTERS AT ARMORIES IN ANTICIPATION OF SERIES OF FORECASTED STORMS

Los Angeles County (Mon., Dec. 20, 2010) – The California Emergency Management Agency (Cal EMA) and California National Guard notified the Los Angeles County Operational Area this afternoon that it has extended the operating hours of the existing winter shelters at armories to 24-hour operation in anticipation of the series of forecasted storms scheduled to impact Los Angeles County beginning tonight.

The winter shelters extended hours of operations will be in effect until Thursday, December 23, 2010. The following is a list of the California National Guard Armories winter shelter locations:

1300 Federal Ave., Los Angeles, 90025

600 South Park Ave., Pomona 91767
