Stolen Vehicle Alert

On December 7, 2010 at approximately 8:00 am, a vehicle was stolen from the 1900 block of Allard. The homeowner had left the vehicle running to “warm up” in the driveway of the residence. This type of crime occurs every year as thieves target neighborhoods looking for vehicles left running during the cold weather.
This morning, three individuals were observed and reported by a resident prowling the neighborhood and appearing suspicious. Investigation by the Grosse Pointe Woods and Harper Woods Police resulted in two of those individuals being arrested on outstanding warrants and taken into custody.
Residents are cautioned against leaving their vehicles unattended and running.
