Man Dies on Metro Platform at Emerson Park Station, E. St. Louis
On Monday December 6th, 2010 at 4:40 AM Sheriff’s Metro Patrol Deputies Scot Pirtle and Lt. Dominic Lauko were dispatched to a “subject down” call at the Metro Platform at Emerson Park Station, E. St. Louis, IL. Upon their arrival they saw a male subject on the ground wearing blue jeans, grey hooded sweatshirt and a medical lab coat with St. Louis University identification. E. St. Louis Police and Medstar also were on scene. EMS determined the subject was deceased and Deputy Coroner Mike Schutzenhofer arrived and pronounced the subject deceased. The victim was identified as:
Robert L. Davidson
65 years old
1360 Summit Ave., E. St. Louis, IL
A Securitas Security Officer had located the victim and called Metro. Sheriff’s Inv. Andrew Leach responded to the scene to investigate. Although the victim was found to possess a loaded firearm, preliminarily there was nothing found to suspect foul play with the victim’s death. Metro video of the platform shows the victim walking up to the platform, sitting down, then after some time, slumping over.
Inv. Andrew Leach will continue to investigate the death.
