The Washington Township Police Department is releasing the following details related to Seat Belt public safety checkpoints.

The Washington Township Police Department is currently participating in the 2010 Holiday Buckle Up America/Click It or Ticket Campaign, running from November 19, 2010 through December 3, 2010.

The goal of the program is to get more drivers and passengers to buckle up day and night. The Washington Township Police Department is urging drivers to buckle up during the holiday season or be ready to face the consequences. Law enforcement will be out in force buckling down on all drivers and passengers that refuse to buckle up.

Seat belts save lives - they are the best defense against crash-related injuries and fatalities. The holidays are no different and in fact are often times some of the most dangerous days of the year, especially for those driving at night.
