Fraudulent service workers gaining entry into homes.

On Friday October 29, 2010 two suspects knocked on the complainant’s apartment door in the 3800 block of Holland Avenue and stated they worked for a termite business and were sent to do an inspection by the owner of the property.  The suspects were 2 black males dressed similarly in black pants and shirts and reflective vests and hard hats.  The complainant allowed the two suspects access to perform an “inspection” at which time the suspects robbed the complainant at gunpoint. Citizens should be alert to people posing as employees of service agencies who come to their residences uninvited.  You should never allow someone in your home who you are unfamiliar with or for whom you did not call.  If you live in an apartment and are concerned about the validity of the individuals, then you should call your apartment manager to verify that they were sent by the management.  As always if you see people in your neighborhood or apartment complex whom you feel are suspicious the you should call Dallas Police.
