Enhanced Holiday Enforcement Initiative

The North Richland Hills Police Department is preparing for its annual “Enhanced Holiday Enforcement Initiative”. The initiative will run during the months of November through January, typically when police see an increase in thefts, vehicle burglaries, and other crimes of opportunity related to the holiday shopping and travel season. In an effort to continue providing the safest and most secure environment for our citizens, visitors, and local businesses, the enhanced enforcement details will be deployed throughout our community. Enhanced enforcement is a multi-dimensional approach to combating criminal activity and will include an elevated observation tower, increased bicycle patrols, strategic personnel staffing, and the directed patrol of commercial and entertainment areas.

Our goal during this holiday season is to reduce crime through progressive crime prevention and deterrence to keep residents and visitors to our community safe and secure. To assist your police department in this endeavor, we encourage you to hide or secure any valuables that may be left in your vehicle. This would include laptops, GPS systems as well as purses and gifts. Valuables in vehicles present an easy target for a would be thief and the best way to prevent a crime is to remove the opportunity for it to occur.

The North Richland Hills Police Department is committed to the safety and security of our citizens and visitors to our community and is working to ensure a safe and peaceful holiday season. We encourage you to always be alert while shopping and traveling and to call the police if you should witness a crime or see suspicious activity.
