Police are searching for a 69-year-old man who went out for a bike ride Sunday afternoon and never returned. (PhxPD)

Police agencies are searching for a missing mountain biker in the north Scottsdale and Phoenix areas. Howard George Deshler, 69yrs old, never returned home from a bike ride on Sunday afternoon. He left from his home near 56th Street/Lone Mountain Road.

Deshler, who goes by "Bud," is described as White, 6 feet tall, weighing 155 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He wears glasses and has scars on his arms.

He was last seen wearing a white shirt with blue-and-green writing, baggy black shorts, a gray bicycle helmet and carrying water in a tan backpack. He was riding a metallic-colored, 26-inch Intense brand bicycle.
