Burglars Targeting Rancho Santa Fe

The Sheriff's Department is warning residents of Rancho Santa Fe about burglaries in the area.

On 10-13-10 two men broke into four homes in Rancho Santa Fe. The residences burglarized were located on the 15000 block of Sun Valley Lane, the 4000 block of Rancho Grande Lane, the 15000 block of Rancho Real and the 15000 block of Via Del Alba.

The suspects were interrupted while burglarizing one of the homes by the homeowner. Suspect #1 attacked the homeowner and forcibly took his wallet. The homeowner had scratches and bruises.

The suspects took mostly jewelry but an NSA (National Security Agency) identification card was also stolen.

The getaway car is described as a late 1990’s or early 2000 model, silver, 4-door Toyota Camry.

One of the burglaries was captured by pet monitoring cameras that were in one of the homes. The cameras are infrared and tint everything purple. The suspects are seen crawling around the house to avoid the burglar alarm laser sensors.

Suspect #1 – Black male adult – late 20’s, 5’8”-5’9” tall, 250-300 lbs with a muscular build, wearing a button down long-sleeved dress shirt, dress pants and dress shoes

Suspect #2 – Black male adult – 6’0”-6’5”, large build, tattoo behind the right ear.
