California State University San Bernardino Police Department
Friday December 4th, 2009 :: 09:30 a.m. PST

New department motorcycle for traffic enforcement on and around the campus, in effort to reduce accidents.

If you have been on campus the last couple of weeks, you probably noticed a new presence on campus. Cruising through the parking lots and surrounding streets is an addition to the Police Department this campus has never had before. In an effort to reduce traffic collision on and around the University, the Police Department has acquired a motorcycle.
Cal State Dominguez Hills, Police Department has loaned the Cal State, San Bernardino Police Department one of their three motorcycles. We will be using the motorcycle to enforce traffic laws on and around the campus, in an effort to reduce traffic collisions and increase campus safety.
Officer Erik Sylvestri will be the Police Department’s first Motor Officer. His designator will be “Motor One.”

Remember the speed limit on campus is 15 MPH. Do your part in reducing traffic collisions and making our campus safe, by obeying the speed limit, driving carefully and using common sense.
Obey all traffic laws while driving to and from work. Though the speed limit on Northpark Blvd. is 50 MPH, remember students and staff members frequently cross from the university housing and apartment complexes. Slow down and be safe. The posted speed limit is not necessarily the safest speed for the present conditions.
