COUNCILMEMBER CASTANEDA WORKS WITH COMMUNITY TO CREATE CLEAN AND SAFE PARKS - Give him a piece of your mind

Chula Vista, CA – Our residents need clean, safe parks in their neighborhoods. Cambios con Fe volunteers, a faith community group in Chula Vista, have been busily cleaning western Chula Vista parks for the last few months, with great results.

Councilmember Steve Castaneda wants to build upon their efforts with the help of the community. “There is considerable value in working together to keep our parks clean and safe for families to use. We’ve had fabulous clean-up events at Memorial, Lauderbach and Otay parks, complete with picnics. The enthusiasm and efforts of the volunteers have led to joyous results – the community coming together in common purpose and wonderfully clean parks, ready to use,” said Councilmember Castaneda.

“In this time of constrained budgetary resources, we can solve problems the old-fashioned way. We can roll up our sleeves and work for our community and for our parks,” continued Castaneda.

With this purpose, Councilmember Castaneda will hold a community meeting at 6PM, Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Otay Elementary School, 1651 Albany Avenue, Chula Vista, 91911 to discuss sustaining the Cambios con Fe program. Representatives from the Chula Vista Public Works Department will be present to answer questions about the Chula Vista Adopt-A-Park program. Councilmember Castaneda invites you all to offer your ideas to keep our City’s parks clean and safe. Please come to give him your suggestions.
