Benicia Detective, BUSD Student Psychologist to Honored for Work with Youth

Based upon nominations from Detective Sergeant Scott Przekurat, Youth Services Officer Ted Criado and BUSD Psychologist Keith Jordan have been named winners of the Solano County Child Abuse Prevention Council's annual Law Enforcement and Educator of the Year awards for 2010. Below is information of the upcoming awards dinner. The two will be honored at an upcoming awards dinner on Thursday, October 28th in Fairfield.

"Since being assigned as the department's Youth Services Officer in December of 2009, Ted has done an excellent job in that position and is really making a positive impact on the lives of the kids he deals with," Chief Sandra Spagnoli said. "In addition to that, he has conducted outstanding investigations in juvenile cases that are very sensitive and delicate in nature. I appreciate the Council's recognition of Detective Criado's work."

School psychologist Keith Jordan has worked closely with the Benicia Police Department for over 15 years. "Keith has been very instrumental in our overall approach on how we try and intervene in the lives of kids who attend Benicia schools," Chief Spagnoli said. "As the school psychologist, he has partnered with a number of our Youth Services Officers and School Resource Officers to provide assistance when needed to students and their families in difficult situations. His relationship with our department and the community is outstanding."

Keith was also praised by Benicia Unified School District Assistant Superintendent Keith Rogenski. "Benicia Unified School District is extremely appreciative and proud of the efforts and accomplishments of Keith Jordan on behalf of Benicia's youth," Rogenski said. "He is an outstanding advocate for children and teens in our community."
