Benicia Police Add On-Line Accident Report Request Service

The Benicia Police Department now offers citizens and insurance companies an on-line service that allows them to order, pay for, and print traffic accidents from their computers. "This report ordering technology will greatly benefit those who have been in an unfortunate
traffic accident," Benicia Police Lt. Mike Daley said. "People involved in accidents along with insurance companies can bypass the sometimes
time consuming process of requesting and waiting for an accident report. In addition, it will take a paperwork burden off of our staff by using this valuable tool."

Accident reports beginning on October 20th will now be available through this service. For those citizens who do not have on line access, the police department will maintain it's process of providing reports in the customary fashion.

Citizens have a variety of ways to access their report on line. They can go directly to, they can access
the city's website at (look for On Line Services), or they can go the Police Department's website at and look for the link on the department's main page. The requestor will need a case number (usually given by the officer at the scene taking the report), the date, and
their last name to find the case. Once they find and view it, they can pay for it at that time using a credit or debit card.

"We believe our citizens will like the ease of this service and will take advantage of it," Lt. Daley said. "Our community is very technologically savvy and this is another service they can utilize."
