POLICE SEEK INFORMATION REGARDING ROBBERY/ASSAULT
HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – October 20, 2010 – The Hollister Police Department is seeking information about a brutal assault that occurred on October 7, 2010 on Sierra Court.
At about 8:30 p.m. police were called to the 100 block of Sierra Court on a report of two males beating another man with bats. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 58 year-old male suffering from major injuries to his head and body. Firefighters and medics treated the victim at the scene. He was flown to a Bay Area hospital for treatment, where he lapsed into a coma but is since recovering.
The investigation revealed that the victim had just parked his car in the area and was walking to his house when two males approached him. The suspects demanded the victim’s money and other valuables. When the victim refused to give the suspects his property, the suspects began to brutally and repeatedly beat the victim with a metal baseball bat, striking him several times on the head and body. The victim and suspects struggled over a bag containing jewelry, which was eventually ripped from the victim’s hands.
The suspects are described as being white or Hispanic males between the ages of 18-20 years old, having short hair and dark eyes. One suspect was described as being about 6’, 160 lbs. The other was described as being about 5’10”, weighing about 140 lbs. Both were wearing black and white plaid shirts and black pants.
