Don’t become a crime statistic! Attend “The Best Defense” a free self-defense workshop brought to you by the Virginia Beach Police Department and Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation. Participants will increase awareness of the environment, learn about crime prevention, obtain personal safety tips, and learn how to escape from potentially dangerous situations. Geared for those ages 12 & up, this self-defense workshop features simple skills that participants will practice under the supervision of Virginia Beach Police Department instructors.

All participants should wear loose comfortable clothing and no jewelry. Those under age 16 must participate with a parent or guardian. Please note that for this free workshop, a membership card is not required. Register as soon as possible as this is a very popular workshop -- registration will be accepted until November 1, 2010.
