The Columbia Township Police Department, in an ongoing investigation of larcenies and burglaries, has had composite drawing completed of two possible suspects.

The most recent crimes that are possibly related occurred along the US-127 corridor, near Jefferson Road. One included the burglary of Partridge Enterprises on Industrial Drive, just North of Jefferson road, wherein a 2006 Yamaha Rhino and tools/equipment were stolen, reported on November 2, 2009. This crime is being investigated by the Columbia Township Police Department.

On October 11, 2009, two subjects were interrupted committing burglaries and larcenies at the storage condominiums on US-127 North of Jefferson. The two suspects fled on foot, and escaped without being identified. This crime was reported to the Michigan State Police.

During the same time frame, another larceny occurred in Liberty Township on US-127 just south of Jefferson Road. This crime was reported (to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department) on October 19, 2009. Stolen in that crime was a Ford pickup, a landscape trailer, and landscape equipment. The victim reported seeing two suspicious male subjects on the property during the day on Saturday, October 17, driving a blue Ford Ranger pickup. The businesses there were closed at that time, and the subjects gave a hokey answer when asked what they were doing there. Based on this incident, a State Police sketch artist met with this victim, and produced a composite sketch of the two possible suspects.
