Crime incident summary from Nov 20-22, 2009 from the Patrol Division. Please note this is not a comprehensive list of incidents. It is a snapshot of incidents that may be relevant to your neighborhood.
ARDEN HILLS
Theft – Arby’s, 37xx Lexington Avenue – 11:45 a.m. 11/22. Suspect leaned over table and mumbled to customers. Woman later discovered her wallet stolen was from her purse. Stolen card used at two ATMs in Little Canada. Suspect – B/M, 40 YOA, 5’7, with scruffy beard, wearing dark colored jacket and blue jeans.
Compliance Checks – 11/20. Alcohol compliance checks with underage buyers were conducted on five businesses in Arden Hills. All businesses passed the test.
GEM LAKE
Fraud – Barnett Car Dealership, 36xx Hwy 61 – 7:30 p.m. 11/20. Male presented an I.D. showing he was 25 YOA, bought car, and paid for it with check of $19,200. Check worthless. Suspect – who turned out to be 14 YOA – arrested when he came to pick up the car.
LITTLE CANADA
Car Stolen – 27xx Rustic Place – between 5:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. 11/22. Green 1994 Honda Civic stolen from apartment parking lot.
Car Stolen – 30xx Payne Avenue – between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. 11/22. Silver 2001 Honda CR-V stolen from driveway.
Theft – 4xx Labore Road – between 4 p.m. 11/20 and 8 a.m. 11/21. Computer, tire rims and speakers stolen from 3rd floor apartment storage room.
Theft – 27xx Rustic Place – between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. 11/22. License plates stolen off 2000 Cadillac Deville.
NORTH OAKS
No Incidents
SHOREVIEW
Office Burglary – 46xx Churchill Street – 2:45 a.m. 11/23. Forced entry – window smashed with landscape rock. Wall-mounted big screen monitor taken.
Theft – 35xx Lexington Avenue – 3 p.m. 11/20. Wallet stolen from purse when women left her office for a few moments.
Check Fraud – 3xx Bridge Street – 11/21. Resident reported check stolen from mailbox and then used to print fake checks with her bank information.
Theft – Fantastic Sam’s, 59xx Rice Creek Parkway – 2:30 p.m. 11/22. Wallet stolen from purse. Suspect – B/F, “older,” 5/4, thin build, short hair, wearing eye glasses, missing all top teeth and many lower teeth as well.
Criminal Damage to Property – 57xx Birch Trail – between 4 p.m. 11/21 and 6:30 a.m. 11/22. Driver’s window broken out on Dodge minivan. Nothing missing from van.
Compliance Checks – 11/20. Alcohol compliance checks with underage buyers were conducted on seven businesses in Shoreview. All businesses passed the test.
VADNAIS HEIGHTS
Shoplifting – Wal-Mart, 8xx County Road E – 4:45 p.m. 11/19. 14 YOA male cited for shoplifting paintball gun.
Theft – Wal-Mart, 8xx County Road E – 4 p.m. 11/21. Seven laptops stolen. Later Sheriff’s deputies assisted Lino Lakes and Spring Lake Park Police in executing search warrant at Highway House Motel in Spring Lake Park. One stolen computer recovered. One 28 YOA male suspect was arrested at the motel.
Compliance Checks – 11/20. Alcohol compliance checks with underage buyers were conducted on 12 businesses in Vadnais Heights. Eleven businesses passed the test. One business did not.
WHITE BEAR TOWNSHIP
Criminal Damage to Property – 17xx Hwy 96 – between 6 p.m. 11/21 and 4:30 p.m. 11/22. Rock thrown through rear passenger window of Ford Explorer parked in driveway. Nothing taken from vehicle.
Criminal Damage to Property – 23xx Taylor Avenue – between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. 11/22. Mailbox struck - possible with a vehicle. Mailbox knocked off post. This is third time in 10 days this mailbox has been damaged.
Compliance Check – 11/20. Alcohol compliance check with underage buyers was conducted on a business in the township. The business passed the test.
