UPDATE: BODY FOUND
The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office has recovered the body of Michael Winford Williams, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
He was found in a wooded area not previously search by Sheriff’s Office investigators.
Williams, 58, of Boaz, was last seen on Saturday, November 7th, at 1640 Thornhill Road, Boaz.
An expanded search with additional resources and more individuals began at 8:00 a.m. this morning.
“While speaking to family and friends, during the course of the investigation, it was decided an expanded search needed to take place,” states Chief of Investigations Mike Jones.
A family member reported him missing on Tuesday, November 10th.

Agencies involved in the search include: Etowah County Sheriff’s Office investigators, reserves and dive team, members of Mountainboro, Sand Valley, Egypt and Ivalee volunteer fire departments, Rainbow City Fire Department, Etowah County Rescue Squad, Gadsden/Etowah County Emergency Management Agency, Etowah 9-1-1, Rural/Metro Ambulance Service and the American Red Cross.
