The final layer of asphalt will be placed on Willis Rd this Friday Oct 1st, beginning early in the morning.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING TRAFFIC LIMITATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

1. RESIDENTIAL ACCESS AND PARKING: (Applies to vehicles intended for use/travel on Friday)
a. Remove your vehicles from Willis Road residences prior to 7:30 AM this Friday.
b. Remove your vehicles from Arboretum residences prior to 10:00 AM this Friday.
c. For the entire time of the paving operation, vehicles should be parked on nearby streets where parking is allowed; such as S. Ann Arbor, Rosemont, Old Creek, Eastlook, and Woodhill Drive.
d. The paving operation will be in excess of 10 hours, so the Willis Road will not re-open to traffic until late in the evening on Friday.
e. Access to residential lots during the paving operation will be limited to emergencies only.

2. YARD WORK/REFUSE PICKUPS:
a. PLACE ALL OF YOUR SOLID WASTE CONTAINERS/BUNDLES/BAGS ON THE LAWN AREA NEAR THE CURB PRIOR TO 6:30 AM. Waste Management trucks will arrive earlier than normal and pick up refuse/recycle/yard waste beginning at 6:30 AM, in advance of the road closure.
b. Do not place refuse/recycle cans on curbs or street pavement; keep them on the lawn area.
c. Do not blow or rake any grass, leaves, etc. onto any concrete curbs or into the street area.

3. OTHER PRECAUTIONS:
a. Do not attempt to walk across any part of the road during the paving work, because the asphalt material is placed at a temperature in excess of 275 degrees, and the tack-coat (tar) and paving material will stick to your shoes and later adhere to your house floors.
b. Do not use bicycles, roller blades, or other narrow-wheeled equipment on the new pavement for at least 24hours (until Saturday morning, if paved on Friday).
c. Do not park any vehicles etc. on the new pavement on Willis Road until after all new pavement markings (painted lines) are applied - some time during the week of October 4th. Cars parked on the street will be towed at the owners expense.

Thank you for your cooperation during the day of paving and pavement marking process. If you have any special concerns or need additional information, please feel free to contact Gary Roubal at 734-429-8296, ext 2222.
