BLRPD COP CARDS NOW AVAILABLE!!

The Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Department is seeking participants for the first ever officer trading card contest. To be a participant, all you need to do is start collecting the cards of the Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Officers. There are a total of 25 cards in the set which can be found either from asking officers when you see them out patrolling, coming to one of the two stations to pick up the starter set or by going to one of the businesses that sponsored an officer. A list of the officers and their sponsors will be available on the department’s web page and will also be handed out when a child picks up a starter set at one of the stations. Once you collect all 25 cards by April 30, 2010, bring the set into one of the offices and show them to an officer or staff member. You will then receive a t-shirt and have your name entered for a grand prize drawing (a second and third place prize will also be awarded).
The contest is for children in grades preschool through 8th grade that live in Upper Macungie Township, Maxatawny Township or the Boroughs of Topton and Lyons. If you don’t live within one of those municipalities, the department would still like to encourage everyone everywhere to collect the complete set and participate in this unique community builder.
The Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Department is hoping that by participating in this unique program, we will promote a positive image with the youths in our community. We are encouraging that the children approach individual officers and not only ask them for their trading card, but also engage in a small conversation with the officer and ask them about being a police officer or about the patrol cars.
The Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Department would like to say thank you to the following businesses for their sponsorship in this great community builder: Fleetwood Bank; Faust Towing; Windsor Deli; the Shoppes of Premise Maid; V&M Towing; Schadler’s Garage; Friendly’s; Subway; Tony’s Pizza; Parma Pizza; Yocco’s; Kuhnsville Car Wash; the Market Café and Catering; Healthy Alternatives and Dreams Created Landscaping/Grim’s Greenhouse and Farm Market. For more information regarding this contest, please call or stop in at one of the department’s offices.
