Lower Paxton Township Police Department

Nov. 16th at 8:00 PM, parking lot of Burlington Coat on East Park Drive. A car exploded, injuring one occupant.

The Lower Paxton Police Department is investigating an explosion which left an 18 year old Carlisle resident injured. On November 16th at 0800 AM. Police responded to the report of a car exploding in the parking lot of Burlington Coat, on East Park Dr. The car had one occupant, the driver. The driver was transported to an area hospital for treatment of second degree burns.

Preliminary examination of the vehicle showed that the vehicles windshield was blown out and the cars doors were bowed out, from an apparent explosion, which happened inside the car.

We do not believe, at this time, that the incident is criminal in nature. Further investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
