Advisory

Information on day time burglary can be found on our Nixle webpage.

On October 28, 2009, a daytime burglary occurred on Nye Road in Wood County. The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5’10” with a slender build, 25-30 yoa, and described as handsome with darker brown hair and a “chin-strap” beard while wearing baggy clothing with his jeans falling down. The male was passive when confronted by the homeowner, stating he was looking for Brittany Myers (unknown if correct spelling) and had been driving around looking for her for 3 hours. The male quickly left with $73 from the victim’s purse in what was believed to be a black, nicer Toyota sedan with a faded or discolored hood.During this incident the homeowner noticed the suspect had opened her kitchen window, possibly to listen for oncoming persons outside.

Seneca County and Hancock County have noticed similar incidences, wherein the suspect opened a window once inside the residence, physical similarities with the suspect and vehicle. Seneca County has had possibly 8-10 incidences reported and Hancock County mentioned a few. Hancock County had one account where the letter “Z” was believed to be on the rear of the vehicle.

The suspect(s) initially appeared to be taking only cash, however they are now taking video game consoles as well. The burglaries have continued in Seneca County as of the last few days.

If anyone has any information that may assist Hancock, Seneca, or Wood County in these investigations, please contact Detective Sergeant Scott Koch of the Wood County Sheriff’s Office at 419-354-9088 (office) or 419-354-9001 (dispatch).
