Sheriff Keith Nygren announced today the completion of a recent 3 day sex offender verification compliance operation conducted by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. The 3 day operation involved members of both the Patrol and Detective Divisions of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. A total of 76 sex offender compliance checks were conducted during this operation and Sheriff’s Office investigators conduct bi-annual verification to make sure that Registered Sex Offenders are providing accurate home addresses, as well as, employer and vehicle information. It is a violation of the Illinois Registered Sex Offender Law to not report any changes in address or employment.

The sex offender verification operation started September 14, 2010 and was completed on September 16, 2010. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office will continue similar sex offender verification operations in the future.
