Fatal Crash
Case 2010-24275

6800 Block of 49th Street (NB)

At approximately 12:00 hrs on Tuesday, Mark Stevens Price was driving alone in his 1996 Dodge van northbound in the center lane of 49th street in the 6800 block. For reasons yet unknown, the van suddenly veered to the right crashing into a concrete light pole. Airbags deployed. The driver was in cardiac arrest at the scene. He was transported to Northside hospital (only a few blocks to the south). He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Investigators are looking at the probability of a medical emergency occurring just prior to the crash (such as heart failure or seizure). Mark Price was 43 years old and lived in Clearwater.
