Advisory

Walnut Festival Twilight Parade is this Saturday, September 18th. There will be several road closures for this event.

The Walnut Festival Twilight Parade takes place in downtown Walnut Creek this Saturday, September 18th. There will be quite a few road closures and detours starting at 4:00 pm until the conclusion of the Twilight Parade some time after 10:00 pm..

Once the streets are closed, the designated on-street parking will become tow-away zones which we must enforce swiftly so that the parade can start on time at 6:00 pm. There are signs posted, but hopefully folks will avoid the hassle and expense of having their car towed by planning ahead. All parking garages will be open as normal.

The street closures include:

- Main St. between Newell Ave. and Lacassie Ave.
- Botelho Dr. between Locust St. and S. Main St.
- Olympic Blvd. between Locust St. and S. Main St.
- Mt. Diablo Blvd. between Locust St. and Broadway.
- Duncan Ave. between N. Main St. and Broadway.
- Cypress St. between Commercial Ln. and N. Main St.
- Bonanza St. between Commercial Ln. and N. Main St.
- Civic Dr. between Commercial Ln. and Broadway
- Giammona Dr. (entire street)

While all other streets in the downtown area will remain open, they will be heavily congested. The best detours around the parade route are Newell Ave, California Blvd., Broadway, and Ygnacio Valley Rd.

The Walnut Creek Police Department is expecting to make this another safe and enjoyable family/community event!

Thank you for your cooperation and support.
