HEALTH DEPARTMENT EXPANDS H1N1 VACCINE PRIORITY GROUPS

Tucson, Arizona – November 9, 2009 – The Pima County Health Department will be offering more people the opportunity to be vaccinated against the H1N1 flu. Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, November 10, 2009, adults 25 to 64 years of age with chronic health conditions will be able to receive the H1N1 influenza vaccine.

The clinics, held at Tucson Electric Park (TEP), will provide vaccine to the following priority groups:
• Pregnant women
• Any person 6 months to 24 years of age
• Any person who cares for children less than 6 months of age
• Any healthcare worker or emergency medical services personnel who have face to face contact with potential flu patients
• Adults aged 25 to 64 with chronic health conditions

Clinics will be held on Tuesday and Thursday, November 10 and 12, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 14, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The address for TEP is 2500 E. Ajo Way Tucson, AZ 85714.
