Arrest made for burglary on Darlas that occurred minutes before stop of suspect truck. See Nixle site for full story.
The cooperative effort between the citizens, the Cold Spring Police and the Campbell County Police resulted in the arrest of a burglar.
There was a report of an attempted burglary of a home in the unincorporated area on Darlas Drive at about 1230 today. The suspect stated that he was at the wrong house and was supposed to be doing some remodeling work. The witness to the attempt was able to get a good vehicle description and description of the individual attempting to gain entry to the home. She called the police to report the attempted break-in with the information.
Officers from Cold Spring and Campbell County responded to the area. The initial officers responding went to the residence of the attempted burglary. Neither of the officers saw the described vehicle on the way there. A third officer arriving minutes later saw a vehicle that matched the vehicle and suspect description at the intersection of Darlas and Pooles Creek. The Campbell County officer made the stop of the vehicle to question the driver.
As the vehicle was stopped another resident of Darlas, passed the vehicle to arrive home and discover that her home had been burglarized. This home is off the roadway and out of sight from the road. Property taken from her home was in the truck and was positively identified.
The person arrested was James King, a M/W 35 years of age who resides in Florence. He was charged with one count of Burglary 2nd degree and one count of Attempted Burglary 2nd.
The person and vehicle may have been involved in other burglaries in the northern Kentucky area.
The arrest was the result of cooperative efforts of all.
