The Amarillo Police Dept. has an important message for the community!

Amarillo residents have been receiving text messages Saturday morning that are a continuation of a bank account SCAM. These messages state that there is a problem with your bank account. The message (or phone call) requests account information. Although the message may look and sound official, your bank will never call and ask for your account information. The bank already has your information. DO NOT give out personal or account information in response to a text or phone call. If you have given out your personal or account information in response to a phone call or text, call your bank immediately. If money has been stolen from your account you may need to make a report with the Amarillo Police Department at http://police.amarillo.gov/onlinereporting.html or call 806-378-3038.
