Florence Police will conduct targeted enforcement action for phone/seat belt violations Sept 18th at Hwy 101/126

The Florence Police Department will conduct another selective traffic enforcement event on Saturday, September 18, 2010. Officers will be specifically looking for Use of a Cell Phone While Driving and Seat Belt violations in the area of the intersection of Hwy 101 and Hwy 126. Part of this enforcement includes use of child restraint seats for those children passengers who must also be secured properly in an age/weight appropriate car seat.

The Florence Police Department asks that you buckle up for safety as use of seat belts does save lives. We also ask if you have to make a phone call or answer one while driving, please stop at a safe location in a lawful manner to use your phone. Distracted driving becomes unsafe driving and the minimum fines for these Class D violations are $142 each.
