Bank surveillance cameras captured a picture of the suspect in this case. Also, the same suspect was the responsible in another bank robbery in the City of Lafayette which occurred on 09/02/10. Two photographs of the suspect are included with this press release. If anyone recognizes this subject, they are asked to contact the Martinez Police Department or Lafayette Police Department.

This investigation is on-going.


On 8 September 2010 at approximately 3:12pm Martinez Police Officers responded to an armed robbery at West America Bank, 590 Center Avenue. A suspect entered the bank and displayed a robbery note and black pistol to one of the tellers. He put the money in a small black bag he brought with him and fled from the bank on foot. The suspect is described as a White male adult, mid 20’s, 5’6”, slim build, short brown hair, no facial hair, wearing a black long sleeve hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He was last seen fleeing southbound from the bank towards the apartment complex just south of the Nob Hill Shopping Center. Responding officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The scene was processed and officers are following up on all available leads.
