**Southwick Police Department** is alerting residents to a dangerous situation. Attempted Abduction

**SOUTHWICK,Mass (WWLP) - This Halloween parents were holding on tight to their children while trick or treating.

One quiet community in Southwick is shaken up after a ten year old boy who lives on Meadow Lane, was the victim of an alleged attempted abduction.

The alleged incident happened last Wednesday. Southwick police Sgt. Richard Cross told 22News the parents of the victim claim their young son was followed by a green van after getting off the school bus.

The boy was walking home when he was reportedly approached by someone wearing a ski mask and sunglasses. The driver is said to have demanded that the boy get into the car and that’s when he ran home where he managed to escape.

Southwick police told 22News they are investigating the incident. So far they are continuing to look for the driver of the green van. Parents in this tight knit neighborhood are realizing danger like this can happen anywhere.
