Robbery of Virginia Educators Credit Union - Suspect Remains at Large

At 8:46 AM this morning, 9/2/10, police received a call of a robbery at the Virginia Educators Credit Union located at 12368 Warwick Blvd. The suspect forced his way into the rear of the business as personnel were entering for work. Inside the man produced a hand gun, forced the staff to open a safe and took cash. He fled the business on foot in a southeast direction.

No one was injured during the robbery, Video surveillance shows the suspect walking bank personnel inside the bank then fleeing. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'8 to 5'11, around 185 lbs. He wore a white or light colored a large design on the rear, a blue or black backpack, blue jeans , white tennis shoes, white surgical type gloves, a dark blue or black ball cap, a white shirt or rag around his face and displayed a dark colored handgun. The suspect remains at large. Police have recovered the weapon believed used in the robbery. The search for the suspect is on going.
