UPDATE:

An anonymous citizen dropped the property off at a Fire Station in Pacheco on Monday, August 30th. All of the property in this case has been recovered and returned to the family. Jones remains in custody on various charges.

NARRATIVE:

On the above date/time a residential burglary was reported. The property owner is a World War II veteran and the extensive property loss included his collection of medals and war mementos from World War II. Officers conducting their investigation located some property hidden in the victim’s yard and set up surveillance to see if the suspect(s) would return.

During the surveillance, a suspicious vehicle drove into the area and was stopped by officers. The driver, Jones, was arrested for an outstanding felony burglary warrant and for possession of methamphetamine located inside his vehicle. In addition, evidence has been obtained linking Jones to the burglary.
