All Counties:

Watches likely to be upgraded to Warnings
Swells from Earl will arrive, making for larger waves and rough surf
Rip Current Risk remains HIGH


Wednesday Evening
New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender, Onslow Counties

Light East winds will begin to pick up
High thin clouds begin to approach from offshore
Sunset may be spectacular as the storm approaches if the timing is right

Bladen, Columbus, Duplin

Little to no impact is expected. Some high clouds may move in before sunrise


Thursday Morning
New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender, Onslow

Clouds thicken, a few rain bands may be just offshore or moving onshore
Surf will begin to get very rough
Winds will begin to become breezy
Some gusts will be higher in rainbands
Columbus, Bladen

Clouds will thicken
Winds will pick up to a light breeze
Duplin

Rain from rainbands will begin to move across parts of the county
Winds will begin to become breezy
some gusts may be higher in rainbands


Thursday Afternoon and Evening
Onslow, Pender

Rain may become heavy at times
1 to 3 inches of rain may fall across the northeast parts of these counties.
Winds may approach tropical storm force, highest along the beaches
Seas will approach 5 to 8 feet, with 15 ft seas offshore
New Hanover

Rain bands from Earl will bring showery rain and some wind
Gusts will be higher in a few of the rain bands
Winds will be brisk, and higher along the immediate beaches, should be just shy of tropical storm force, perhaps gusting to tropical storm force.
1/2 to 2 inches of rain are possible, with highest amounts on the north side of the county
Brunswick

Very rough surf, seas 5 to 7 ft
Showers may move through, especially on the north and east side of the county
Winds may gust during the squalls to 30-35 mph
Bladen, Columbus

Winds will become brisk
Showers will be possible, especially on the east side of the counties
Winds may be higher in isolated rain showers
Duplin

Rain will become heavy at times, especially on the east side of the county
1 to 3 inches of rain could be possible
Winds will be brisk, gusting to 25 mph at times

Rain will end from west to east
Some showers still possible through Friday AM
