A large scale power outage has occurred in the area of Monmouth County east of the garden state parkway.Teams are working to address the problem as we speak. We estimated repairs could take 2 hours from this time (645pm).
The entire Borough of Deal is currently effected. All traffic lights are out and residents are asked to please adhere to the temporary traffic patterns and drivers are urged not to drive through barricaded intersections. Doing so can cause and accident and will result in a summons. Anyone requiring assistance for medical conditions are aasked to call Deal Police Headquarters at 732-531-1113 or dial 911 if it is a life threatening emergency. Residents are askled to please not call the police for routine inquiries on power status as it overburdens the dispatchers and blocks emergency calls.
