Mount Laurel Police reminds citizens to be safe on Halloween. Report any suspicious or unlawful activity to police.

The Mount Laurel Police Department has an important Halloween safety message for the community!

*Be sure walking areas are well-lit and free of obstacles.

*Keep candle-lit jack-o’-lanterns away from doorsteps, walkways, landings, and curtains. Keep them out of the reach of pets and small children, and never leave them unattended.

*Remind drivers to watch out for trick-or-treaters and to drive safely.

*A parent or responsible adult should always accompany young children.

*For older children going alone, plan the route that is acceptable to you. Agree on a specific time when they should return home.

*Only go to homes with a porch light on and never enter a home or car for a treat.

*Stay in a group and communicate where they will be going.

*Carry a cell phone for quick communication.
Remain on well-lit streets and always use the sidewalk when available.

*Never cut across yards or use alleys.
Don't assume the right of way. Motorists may have trouble seeing Trick-or-Treaters.

*Law enforcement authorities should be notified immediately of any suspicious or unlawful activity.
