INCIDENT TYPE : Serious Motor Vehicle Crash

DETAILS: On August 25, 2010 at 3:45pm, officers were sent to a major crash at Plains and Broadmoor. A newer model Chevrolet 4-door was west bound on Plains. The driver, Steve Kindred, WM, 50, drove left of center, striking a Toyota mini-van head on. The Toyota was then struck by a Nissan S.U.V. The driver of the Toyota, Ruby Johnson, BF, 55 and her 3 passengers went to a local area hospital. Ms. Johnson received serious injuries as a result of the head-on collision. The driver and passenger of the Nissan also were transported to the hospital. Kindred was transported to the hospital as well. Alcohol and speed were factors in this accident.

****UPDATE****8-26-2010, 2:30 PM-Both drivers named in this release remain hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The two occupants of the Nissan were released. This case will remain open for additional investigation, no charges have been filed.
