Robbery of Individual Offenses, East Dallas Area

Recently the East Dallas area has seen an increased number of robbery of individual offenses.

The suspect description on several of these offenses, while very general, seems to indicate a possible link between some of these robbery offenses. A black male, early 20’s, 5’10” to 6’0”, medium build, armed with a chrome/nickel (silver color) handgun, has approached individuals on foot. In some cases he has initiated contact by asking generic questions (IE directions). The suspect then demands property at gunpoint and flees on foot.

It appears that these are crimes of opportunity. The public is urged to remain aware of their surroundings, be cautious of any unknown individuals approaching them in public, and to report any suspicious activity to 911.
