Checkpoint resulted in 3 DUI arrests, 1 warrant arrest, 35 citations issued, and 39 vehicles towed/impounded 
Officers from the National City Police Department, the Chula Vista Police Department, the Harbor Police, the Alcohol Beverage Control, the San Diego County Probation Department, and deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department conducted a multi-agency “Zero Tolerance” DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint on Friday evening, August 20, 2010. The checkpoint was located in the 2600 block of Highland Avenue in National City.
The operation was conducted as part of the county-wide AVOID the 14 DUI campaign. The AVOID campaign is committed to making San Diego County’s roadways safer for everyone.
RESULTS: 1044 vehicles drove through the checkpoint with 660 of those vehicles randomly screened. The operation resulted in 3 DUI arrests, 1 warrant arrest, 35 citations issued, and 39 vehicles towed/impounded; primarily for driver’s license violations.
