INCIDENT TYPE : Homicide

On August 9, 2010, at 12:18 a.m., APD officers were sent to the Los Dos Compadres Bar, located at 5410 Amarillo Blvd. East, in reference to a shooting. A 26 year-old male was found with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim had just walked out of the bar when he was shot just outside the front door. Witnesses reported seeing two Hispanic males leaving the bar about the time of the shooting. Two bar patrons attempted to perform CPR on the victim until he was transported to NWTH where he was pronounced dead. Justice of the Peace Thomas Jones ordered an autopsy and the autopsy will be performed in Lubbock, Texas on August 9, 2010. No suspects have been identified at this time. The next of kin was notified and the deceased is identified as Jeremy Lawrence Haywood of Amarillo, Texas. The case is currently under investigation by the Special Crimes Unit. UPDATE 08-20-2010****** On Thursday August 19, 2010 a warrant charging Murder was issued for the arrest of Jose Alberto Sanudo-Perez, H/M 33, by the Potter County District Attorney office, for the shooting and death of Jeremy Lawrence Haywood. Sanudo-Perez is believed to have fled to Mexico shortly after this homicide occurred.
