Alert

A series of daytime home invasions has continued in Harper Woods, concentrated mainly in the southwest section.

Harper Woods Police are continuing to investigate a series of daytime home invasions in the southwest section of our community. The home invasions have occurred mainly during daylight hours and usually involve forcible entry through the front door or rear windows of the home. Harper Woods detectives have developed information on suspects and the case is being actively investigated. We are being assisted by other law enforcement agencies in the attempt to apprehend these suspects.

Residents are asked to report any people or vehicles that do not belong in their neighborhood immediately to 911. Some witnesses have reported seeing a group of black males, 2 - 5 in number, approach a home, force entry, and then leave the area quickly.

Please keep an eye on your neighbor’s homes and report anything that appears out of place. We have had six attempts or completed home invasions since our last NIXLE update on August 04, 2010.

We would rather respond to a false alarm than have one of our residents victimized by criminals.

IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your continued assistance.

Deputy Chief
