Four Arrested for Damaging Mailboxes in Woodstock

Sheriff Keith Nygren announced today the arrest of four individuals for damaging approximately seventeen mailboxes and two signs in the Thoroughbred Estates Subdivision in unincorporated Woodstock.

On August 15, 2010 at 4:11 AM, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to the Thoroughbred Estates Subdivision, Woodstock, IL regarding a complaint of individuals causing problems in the area. The responding deputies received valuable information from a witness who notified the Sheriff’s Office of the incident in a timely manner. Deputies arrived in the area and located approximately 17 mailboxes and 2 signs which were damaged.

Subsequent investigation led to the apprehension of Patrick Kretowiez, Max D. Whiting, and two juveniles on August 15, 2010. The Patrol Division was assisted by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division. The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be forthcoming.
