Police Seek Information in Two Sexual Assault Cases 
August 9, 2010 (MINNEAPOLIS) The Minneapolis Police Department Sex Crimes Unit is seeking the public’s help in providing any information about two sexual assaults that took place in the area of 14th Street near Portland and Chicago Avenues between 7 pm last Friday night, August 6th, and 6:30 am on Saturday, August 7th. In both cases the assaults occurred outside on female victims walking alone. The victims were overpowered from behind and then beaten, sexually assaulted and robbed.
Investigators believe that these attacks were perpetrated by the same suspect. Police are asking that if anyone in the area saw something suspicious or knows anything about these cases that they contact Sgt. Mattson at 612-673-2358.
The Minneapolis Police Department’s First Precinct Crime Prevention Specialists will be issuing a crime alert in relation to these cases.
