Alert

Two more attempted Home Invasions overnight in Harper Woods.

Around 1:00 am this morning, a resident on Elkhart Street had a large boulder thrown through her rear bedroom window. She called 911 immediately and the person(s) responsible ran off before entry was made into her home. Early this morning a resident on Roscommon discovered unknown person(s) had pried open a rear bedroom window and entered his home without being detected.

Harper Woods Police are investigating these attempts to see if they are connected to the series of daytime Home Invasions that have plagued the city recently. Residents are being encouraged to contact the police to report ANY suspicious people or vehicles in their neighborhood. If something appears out of the ordinary in your block, please contact us, we will respond and check out the situation. The best defense to this type of crime is a good neighbor who watches your home as you are keeping an eye on theirs. Good lighting around your home and a burglar alarm help in deterring this type of criminal activity. Please contact the police department if you have any questions about the security of your home. If you are not sure if you should call us about a situation, make the decision to call. It is much better for us to check out what is happening and find nothing than to have your neighbor be the victim of a crime. Thank you.
